How to open a cast iron teapot
1. Boil tap water. After washing the new pot, boil the water 3-5 times continuously until the boiled water is free of impurities and odor. This pot-opening method is suitable for friends who like to collect and play. Using this method to open the pot, with the accumulation of times, a pendulum scale will form on the inner wall of the pot, which is very fulfilling.
2. Boil tea and open the pot. When the iron kettle is used for the first time, put the raw Pu'er tea into the iron kettle and boil it for about 10 minutes. In this way, the tannin in the tea and the iron dissolved in the iron pot will form a layer of tannin iron film on the surface of the iron pot, which can make it not easy to rust. After boiling, pour out the water in the pot and repeat the above 2-3 times until the water is transparent. After the new pot is opened, try to use it every day so that the scale can quickly attach and form a protective layer to prevent rust. It is recommended to boil tap water and mineral water for the new pot, and try not to boil pure water for the first month.
3. Derusting. If the pot will not be rusted for a long time, there are usually more ways to remove rust, that is, soak the pot with rice vinegar, and then open the pot once.
Note: The tap water in many places is now very clean, and the water contains less minerals, so scale cannot grow. Scale is a kind of crystal formed by minerals in water, such as: sodium, magnesium, aluminum, silicon, phosphorus, calcium ions, etc., due to the reduced solubility in water after heating. On the one hand, the water quality can be kept constant, and on the other hand, it can play the role of rust prevention without removing it. (Those who have the conditions can take mountain spring water, and underground water is more likely to grow scale.)
